Coordination Committee of the Collective

The role of the Collective's coordination committee is to identify current issues and organize CSAS meetings accordingly, to make operational decisions, to promote the mobilization of stakeholders and to ensure that the committees meet their respective mandates.

Joëlle Latour

Field of Action Coordinator – Sherbrooke Food Security Collective

Joëlle is passionate about the outdoors, nature and well-being, which quickly led her to take an interest in improving the well-being of the planet and its humans. Holder of a master's degree in environmental management, she has several years of experience as a participatory project manager in adaptation to climate change, particularly in agriculture, and as a researcher on behavioral changes related to the environment. She is driven by a deep desire to act for the socio-ecological transition. She embodies the hope and motivation of a collective evolution towards a more humane and ecologically healthy world. Today, she is very happy to be at the helm of this meaningful collective project!

Andrée-Anne is passionate about human relations and social justice. For more than 14 years, it has supported local development in order to improve the living conditions, health and well-being of the population. Holder of a master's degree in cooperative and community development management at the University of Sherbrooke, she specializes in supporting and accompanying collective processes, whether with organizations or citizens. For several years, she has supported and taken part in the Sherbrooke Food Security Collective. She considers herself privileged to act to increase food security in Sherbrooke by forming a team with a large number of partners always ready to adapt to face new contexts and better meet the needs of the population.

Project Officer – Gleaning, Transformation and Social Inclusion

For Champ d’actions – Sherbrooke Food Safety Collective

She is passionate, dedicated, and dynamic, with a deep love for food, gardening, cooking, food autonomy and community. Trained in ecology at Cégep, she has demonstrated exceptional commitment by being actively involved in various student associations. Since 2017, she has been living her passion for herbalism, vegetable growing, compost and permaculture by cultivating gardens for food autonomy and horticultural pheasants. She has acquired a wealth of experience working in organic grocery stores such as "Le Silo" and "L'Accommodation Bio". Since arriving in Sherbrooke in 2018, she has been compassionately and dedicatedly preparing meals for people living on the street by collecting food.

La Grande Table is a community organization founded in 1991, aiming to contribute to improving the quality of life of families and children in need by offering them hot meals and promoting social integration and autonomy in a family living environment.

 

In the early 1990s, the job market was affected by the departure of several companies, particularly in the manufacturing sector. Poverty affected a large number of families in Sherbrooke. Several community organizations were created to meet the needs of the population. Even today, poverty affects a large number of families in Sherbrooke. Among the community organizations called upon to meet the needs of the population, La Grande Table is a major player in front-line food aid services in the territory.
